2023 Acura Integra Gauge Cluster

New Acura models come with AcuraWatch, a suite of driver assistance features that give you peace of mind on every drive. Take a look at the standard Acura safety features and how they work to make the road safer for everyone.

Enhancing Driver Safety with Acura Safety Features

Collision Mitigation Braking System

Acura’s collision mitigation braking system (CMBS) uses radar and a front-mounted camera to keep an eye on the traffic. It tracks your speed and distance from the vehicle in front of you.

If the car ahead of you stops suddenly or you’re eating up the distance too quickly, the system will sound a warning and display an alert on the dash. If you don’t act in time, the CMBS will apply the brakes to protect you from rear-ending the car.

Pedestrian Detection

This technology is part of the collision mitigation braking system. Instead of just looking out for vehicles, the system scans for pedestrians on your path as well. If it senses someone moving in front of your car, it will alert you to hit the brakes. It can also apply automatic brakes if you don’t act immediately.

Road Departure Mitigation

If you’re driving while tired or in poor weather, it’s very easy to drift out of your lane without knowing. But Acura has your back with their road departure mitigation system. It uses cameras and sensors to spot lane markings on the road and detect when you’re drifting toward the edge of the road.

The system will display an alert on the dash and sound a warning, so you can steer back into the lane. This feature is also able to apply brakes and nudge the steering wheel to guide the vehicle back into the lane.

Lane Keeping Assist System

Acura’s lane keeping assist is useful when driving on long road trips, in poor weather, and on the highway. It can detect when you’re veering off your lane without signaling a lane change. It sends an alert, so you can steer back into your lane to avoid a collision. This system can also provide gentle steering correction to return your vehicle safely to its lane.

Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow

Adaptive cruise control takes the stress out of everyday driving. It monitors the distance between your Acura and the car ahead and adjusts your speed to maintain that distance. If the car slows down, it will apply the brakes to slow you down too.
