Engine (Power)

The base TLX gets its power from Acura's 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder that generates 272 horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. When the Type S arrives, it will have an all-new 3.0-liter turbo V-6 with 355 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque. Both of the TLX engines work with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive comes standard with the base with Acura's SH-AWD, or Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system available as an option, and if you opt for the new 3.0-liter, the SH-AWD comes standard.

Interior

Inside, the dual-cockpit design is sleek and sporty. Depending on the trim, the 2022 TLX will have ambient lighting in the cabin and metal trim elements. Milano leather upholstery is an available option for the higher-end models, while all trims will have a leather-wrapped steering wheel and come with power-adjustable front seats.

A new, larger 10.2-inch display screen with a touchpad on the center console to control it now comes standard along with a 7-inch gauge cluster display for the driver. Acura made improvements to the touchpad for the 2022 model year to make it more accurate, and added some steering-wheel buttons and some physical knobs. Apple CarPlay and Andriod Auto are expected to come as part of the infotainment system along with Wi-Fi and USB ports.

Performance

Even the base engine will get the TLX up to 60 mph in about 6.5 seconds, and experts expect the 3.0-liter to get it there in just over four. The transmission for the Type S will receive some sporty tuning to make it even more responsive and fun to drive.
